It's A Girl - Autumn Faith Hess

Autumn Faith Hess was born this morning @ 11:14 am. She is 6 lbs 11 oz. Jen’s water broke at about 2:00 am this morning and we spent the entire morning in the hospital. After some complications, Autumn was delivered by emergency C-Section. Jen is doing fine and is recovering well in Mid Michigan Regional Medical Center – Midland. Autumn has experienced some complications today and is now at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. She has experienced some trauma and lost a lot of blood. After some work, they did get Autumn’s heart to beat, but they are still breathing for her. As I write this we (Sep, Pastor Dave, Rachel & I) are on our way to Ann Arbor, so I am asking that you all continue to pray for Jen (she needs to heal physically and emotionally right now) and for Autumn (I just received a call from the doctor in Ann Arbor and he said that she is much better now than she was when she left Midland) that God would continue to make her healthy, independent and strong. Also, for Jayna, with Mom in the hospital and Dad going to Ann Arbor – she is going to be needing some patience and understanding (which doesn’t exactly come easy to a 5 year old). Thanks so much to all of you who have been praying for us today and for the prayers that will continue throughout these next few days!! Pops always taught me that ‘If it doesn’t work under pressure, then what good is it?’ Well, today this new daddy is under pressure so pray that we hold on to Jesus. He is our comfort, strength and peace today.

My Little Golfer

Jayna has taken up golf. She has been golfing with Jen and I all summer and she now has her own set of clubs and really enjoys being out on the course or even practicing in the yard. I thought that I would share a couple of pictures of her enjoying her new hobby!!

No Baby Yet

As most of you have probably heard, Jen has had some premature labor the last couple of weeks. We spent a couple of days in the hospital 2 weeks ago and then 4 more days last week, but she is fine & healthy and so is the baby. Thanks sooo much for all of your prayers and encouragement. Jen will be 36 weeks tomorrow and the doctors are comfortable with the baby arriving anytime after next Monday, 10/2. So, the plan is on Monday to go off the medicine and resume some light activity and see what happens. Thanks again and I will be sure to let you all know when this baby shows up. Check back here often to see the very first pictures of the new little one.

School Bus

So now that Jayna has her first official week of school behind her, we thought that we would share a couple more pictures from this week.

Here is Jayna & Riley (Grandma's neighbor) getting on the bus. Riley is in 1st grade and can keep a close eye on Jayna.

Here is Jayna (backpack and all) waiting for the bus to show up.

First Day of School

Today was Jayna's first day of school. She is officially a kindergartener. She did great and made some new friends. She has lots of ladies from church who work in different areas of the school who are looking out for her (which makes mom & dad more at ease also). Her teacher Mrs. Firenze is a very kind lady who is going to do great teaching Jayna and helping her adjust to this new stage in her life. Jen was off work today (more about that at a different time), so she took Jayna to school today, but tomorrow she is going to Grandma Hess' house to get on the bus. Look for more pictures of that big day tomorrow. Here is Jayna at home before they left for school and one of her @ school in the cafeteria with Mrs. Firenze and other kids getting ready to go to their classroom.
